Camping with a toddler…

Fact number 1. We are the WORST campers in the world!

We take everything and nothing. Take hours to put the tent up and argue over putting the tent up.

Camping with a toddler was, we’ll, an experience. The fact we were on a slope made it very hard! Every time we stepped into the tent we felt ill. Then the rain! Oh my, the rain! In the end we had to abandon the tent and come home! The hubby then returned later on for it.

Then somewhere in between we find time to relax and enjoy.

The tent has now been stored away for the year… or maybe a few years 😂

Nercwys Forest

So what do you do on a cold morning when your little piglet is in a bad mood… yes, that’s right… go for a walk in a forest!

Drew and I have been here a couple of times before , the first time being when I was about 16 weeks pregnant. That time we also walked up to Bryn Alyn, which I highly recommend as the views from there are stunning.

We wrapped up warm and took some snacks. Walking boots are a must for this forest walk. I know this seems silly but I always take a photo of the map just in case I get lost! 😂🙈

It was so peaceful and serene here today. There was no one else around and so you feel like the luckiest people in the world to be experiencing this forest.

The circular walk itself is about 4.2km long with an incline. So make sure you’re prepared! Good shoes, a drink and snack and camera to snap some lovely scenic pictures.

And of course we took Ted with us who was beyond excited about returning here!

There are sign posts along the way so you don’t have to stray from the circular path if you don’t want to.

Even Ted was enjoying the views.

The forest is just amazing this time of year with all the autumn colours on show.

There are also signs with information about the sites history.

You can detore off the path and visit the lake head off to Bryn Alyn but today we just stuck to the circular walk.

Piglet was all wrapped up but refused to go to sleep! I’d like to think that she was enjoying the scenery too much to sleep!

And Ted…

Is a very happy pup!

As I write this now I have one little hairy baby  (Ted😉) fast asleep on his cushion… I’m just waiting for him to start snoring!

And my other little baby is having a snoozy boob in my arms!

A good sign I think!

How to get there:

Sat nav is rubbish getting to this place! I find it easier to get the car park on google maps and listen to the instructions.
